iPad2 May Contain New High Resolution 2048x1536 Screen
Just to throw some fuel into the iPad2 rumor fire, a recent discovery was made by a ever so curious developer. One the biggest rumors going around is that iPad2 will be receiving a higher resolution display.
Within each iOS application, is a container of graphics for each support i-device. A set for iPod and iPhone 3Gs 480 x 320 resolution, a set with it's resolution doubled to support the iPhone 4 retina display, which is 960 x 640 and a final set of graphics for iPad 1024 x 768.
The developer discovered a set of graphics labelled "iPadx2", with it's resolution double that of the current iPad display at 2048x1536. This was discovered within in Apple's iBooks Version 1.1 app.
If history does repeat itself, just as Apple had doubled the resolution of it's original iPod & iPhone when it released the iPhone 4. Then this discovery could prove to be a affirmation of what's to come.
Since this information has gone public Apple has removed the extra set of images within iBooks and released a version update. This is a strategic move by Apple to keep the silence of any new upcoming products.
